This morning the kids were up before the roosters. At the kids' NEW AND BETTER school, they are allowed to celebrate not only Mexican holidays, but the American ones as well. Today was half day, costume contests, barb-q, food, games and DISCO! We're super excited that the kids' get to experience this holiday WITHOUT the fear of going to hell for dressing up. LIttle One was Iron Man, and Moosecake was witch/evil fairy/demon/angry teenager.
The look of adolescence sure scares the hell outta me. WITHOUT the costume.
Please tell me this gets better. :P

About Me
- Refried Dreamer
- I've been living in Mexico now for about a two years with my hubby and 2 kids. Not exactly by choice, but we're here nonetheless. Luckily, I live with quite a few of the accomodations that i was used to in the states. In spite of those convienences, we also have a water tank with asbestos, outdated electricity, massive amounts of dust, caterpillars that burn your skin, and thousands of windshield washers on every street corner. My kiddos and I are learning to speak spanish and adjust to life away from our family and friends in the States.

OMG! How cool that your kids' school lets them celebrate Halloween! I want a school like that! :)
The kids look so cute in their costumes. Moosecake looks so grown up! My eldest daughter, who will soon be a teenager, has that exact same look. And I don't like it! I want her to be 5 again. :)
Do you want to know if the teen years get better? I don't want to burst your bubble, but...... You are entering a long, dark tunnel and can not see the light at the end. All you can do is forge ahead. And someday you will see the light at the end of the tunnel. Or like my cousin says, "Raising teenagers is like nailing jello to the wall."
Very cool costumes! I wish I had some advice for you but I'm also in the same boat :/
I love the name of her costume it made me laugh so hard. Look forward to hanging out later. ;)
Oh and be sure to keep notes on the teenage stuff Ill need them in a few years.
And what are you dressing up as???/
My costume this year is an grumpy old man....jeje
@Leslie: well, she's not EXACTLY a teen yet... pre teen. but it counts. she's already driving me nuts. Scary thing is... she LIKES her new nickname "demon child."
@Ritamg: so.... I will be consulting you for teenage/sanity advice.
@Mama4: we'll stay in touch! :)
@Amanda: We had a great time! Thanks for hanging out... we'll do it again fo' sho!!!
@Tancho: haha... ♥ it! Hmmm... I have something thinking to do before tonite. If my pre-teen keeps on the way she does, it'll be "suicidal tendencies!"
They look great- nice job on the makeup- We had a good time here too. Your basic run around and be crazy - get candy sort of night!
